Meet Charlie Chi Nguyen

Mayor of Westminster, America first advocate, and electrical engineer.

Charlie’s father, a general in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam, was sentenced to years in a “reeducation camp” following the fall of Saigon in 1975. Charlie knows what it means to lose freedom, to be unable to speak the truth, and to be forced to act against one’s conscience.  Charlie escaped Communist Vietnam by sea and was ultimately granted asylum in the United States.

Arriving in America with nothing but determination, Charlie supported himself through school with part time jobs. After graduating from Bolsa Grande High School, Carlie went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fullerton and a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from California State University, Long Beach. Charlie  then entered the aerospace industry, eventually rising into senior management.

A proud conservative Republican, Charlie has built a strong record of public service. He was first elected in 2016 as Director of the Midway City Sanitary District, defeating a 27-year incumbent. He later served as Westminster's councilman, Vice Mayor, and now Mayor. Over his years in elected office, Charlie has successfully championed city infrastructure improvements, public safety initiatives, and economic development.

With a longstanding record of bridging cultures and delivering real results, Charlie is respected as a leader who listens, takes action, and serves with integrity. Now prepared to serve at the national level, he remains dedicated to advancing policies that ensure safe neighborhoods, economic opportunity for all, and responsible fiscal stewardship — always guided by the principles of freedom, faith, and conservative values that have shaped his life from the start.

Charlie humbly asks for your support, trust, and vote. Together, he believes a stronger, safer, and more hopeful future can be built for the district and for the country.
